This piece is made with stones from Lake Superior and sterling silver. The silver is oxidized to get the grey color.
These stones, along with all the stones in my jewelry, have been found by my husband and myself at Lake Superior(or Lake Michigan as some of these rocks are from). Yes, we spend a lot of time at the beach!
We may have drilled or cut them but otherwise they are un-altered and untreated.
They will absorb some of your oils and deepen in color and take on a beautiful sheen.
I try to find fairly thin rocks and I think you will find them to be much lighter than you would expect.
Each piece is unique.
This brooch is a black rock that has an interesting setting. It has a bezel and also little balled pins that act like prongs. The pin is a double and it is steel. I feel a double pin is more stable. It also has a bail so you could put it on a chain as a pendant.
This sale is for this item pictured. This is the first one of it's kind.
It I s approximately 1 3/4 inches square.
Please feel free to convo me if you have any questions.
